For each homework assignment, please be sure to do the following:
Follow the directions carefully. Keep in mind the importance of reading and understanding the problem before attempting to come up with a solution. Design a plan for solving before attempting to solve complex problems. Always remember to show and check your work, clearly communicate your thoughts, and justify your reasoning. If you happen to have trouble with a problem first look back to your notes and class work, then attempt the problem & write any questions you have for me regarding the problem and/or list reasons why you feel as you do regarding the problem. Be specific when describing what you do not understand so that I can understand your thought process & help you. Do not leave any problems blank. Please do not hesitate to see me for help as necessary. All assignments, unless otherwise noted, will be graded based on effort & number of problems attempted.
TenMarks Assignments Directions:
*Visit www.tenmarks.com and log in to access the assignment. If you misplaced your login information, please let me know as soon as possible. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. You may want to complete some problems each night and save your work as you go. Also remember that you must review and correct your answers before the scores are submitted. Please remember to take your time with these assignments, and to use the hints & videos where available to your advantage (there is no limit on the number you can use per assignment). You can also reference your class notes to help you as necessary. I also strongly suggest that you show and complete your work on scrap paper.
General Study Strategies:
Some effective ways to study include the following:
- Look through your notes and the references online. Highlight what was important. Make a graphic organizer of the main ideas by rewriting the essential pieces along with example problems.
- Retry old homework/class work/review problems. When you are done, check your work. If you went wrong at all, identify where and why. See me to go over these problems as necessary.
- Make flashcards to review vocabulary, important ideas, rules, theorems, properties, etc.
~ Also remember to keep up with organizing your notebooks, binders, and/or folders.
